ABOUT MALAYIA

Certified Birth + Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator,

Student Midwife, & Child Development Expert

Malayia Cooley (she/her) is a Texas native, cat mom, and huge believer in dessert after every meal. She specializes in inclusive and affirming, trauma-informed care and reproductive justice for people of color throughout their pregnancy and postpartum periods.

Her background in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) has taught her how to prepare families for the birth of their little ones with perinatal diagnoses as well as developmental delays and disabilities during the postpartum period. She prides herself in providing families with the resources and tools needed to parent well after her time with them. Her mission is to empower families to make educated decisions, ask questions, and advocate for themselves.

In her free time, you can find her volunteering in the local NICU or with Foster Village, out on her boat, or listening to a true crime podcast.

Malayia is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and enjoys providing support to those that identify as a member of a marginalized community because she believes everyone deserves culturally competent and inclusive support.
